The level of sound in cinemas is too loud

Have your say

I agree that level of sound in clubs and bars far exceeds a safe level for hearing damage but no one seems to consider the level of sound in cinemas, which is the reason I only occasionally visit the cinema.

I am particularly concerned about the damage being done to children’s ears.

As it is the school holiday many children will be visiting the cinema and children’s films in particular seem to have an unacceptable sound level.

Is there any legislation in place regarding this?

I have been in one cinema where the noise from the one adjoining can be heard as well.

I would be interested to know why they are so loud as, apart from the potential damage, it detracts from the enjoyment of the film.
