The legacy of Thatcher years

Have your say

I HOPE JJ, Sheffield 6, has a long memory.

In the Eighties and Nineties, unemployment stood at 3.6 million, 3.1 million for a consecutive five years. Interest rates at 15 per cent, housing in negative equity.

Mines, steelworks, docks closed, leaving communities devastated. That was Mrs Thatcher’s legacy.

If Gordon Brown had not bailed the banks out, industry in Great Britain would have stopped functioning.

As for Nick Clegg, he sold his party out for a piece of power.

Have you watched the film Billy Liar?
