A DONCASTER leisure venue has boosted its green credentials after an eco-drive to reduce its carbon footprint.
The Dome has reduced energy consumption levels by five per cent over the past two years, which means the leisure venue, run by Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust, has upped its Display Energy Certificate rating from an E to a D.
General manager Michael Hart said: “We take our environmental policies very seriously and are thrilled to have beaten our previous rating. It is fantastic news that we can offer such a great variety of leisure facilities with reduced impact on the environment.
Action to boost the eco-friendliness of the venue included a new insulated roof for the skating area and controlled lighting and recycling bins to reduce landfill waste.
