IT was with a great deal of sadness that we collected mum, Geraldine Oxley, from Hazlehurst Care Home for the last time today.
She has been having respite care with them over the years, enabling us to have a well-deserved break.
This wonderful place is now closing as a day and respite centre to become a convalescent home. I know nothing stands in the way of progress, but it needs to be said how important it was as a place of wonderful care for the elderly clients who were treated with love and kindness. It has been very upsetting for all concerned that these changes had to occur.
I will take this opportunity to say a huge thanks once again to manager Steve and all his staff for all the care, help and friendship shown to mum and us as a family.
Mum, 91-years-old, moves on to Overdale for her respite care, where we hope she will be just as happy.
