PLANS have been submitted for a proposed new Tesco store in Rotherham town centre.
The new store would have a petrol station, 554 parking spaces and a sales area of more than 6,000 square metres.
It would also include a multi-million pound investment in the road network, removing the Centenary Way flyover, upgrading pedestrian crossings and improving access to the Transport Interchange.
Tesco held a public exhibition of the proposals last November. There will now be a formal opportunity for residents and businesses to comment during the application’s consultation period.
A decision could be made as soon as April.
