TENANTS have handed £923 to a Sheffield hospice after holding a ‘Pennies from Heaven’ fundraising event.
During the event, held by Brindley Tenants and Residents’ Association, there were stalls selling bric-a-brac, cakes, cards, clothing, and gifts, as well as a sponsored auction of new goods.
There were also stalls set up at the Norfolk Park Centre where items were sold and a hamper was raffled at Birley Primary School.
Fran Morley, of St Luke’s Hospice in Whirlow, said: “The amount raised is staggering and we are so impressed with the hard work and amount raised.”
Rita Powdrill, Brindley TARA vice-secretary, said: “We are thrilled to have been able to raise this money. It is such a worthy cause and so many businesses helped us by providing prizes and gifts.”
