A COUNCIL tenant caught growing cannabis in his Sheffield home has been evicted.
Richard Paul Landrygan, of Challoner Way, Westfield, was convicted of possession of cannabis with intent to supply at Sheffield Crown Court.
Police searched his home in September 2011 and found 50 grams of cannabis bush, small plastic ‘dealer’ bags and digital scales.
Sheffield Council applied for a warrant for possession of the property and Mr Landrygan, aged 42, was evicted on Wednesday.
“We will use all the legal powers at our disposal if a tenant carries out criminal activity in one of our properties,” said Coun Harry Harpham, cabinet member for homes and neighbourhoods.
“Eviction is always a last resort but we will continue to take strong action.”
