Television star to switch lights on
AN EMMERDALE star will officially launch the festive season at a Sheffield shopping centre when he turns out to switch on the Christmas lights.
Tom Lister, who plays bad boy Carl King in the ITV soap, will light up Crystal Peaks at the big switch-on event at 6.30pm on Thursday November 12.
He has also pledged to hand his appearance fee for the event to the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice in North Anston.
The switch-on will also include the opening of the centre's Christmas Grotto, where children can go and visit Santa over the coming weeks.
