A TEENAGE motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after a collision with a car in Scawsby.
The 17-year-old from Woodlands suffered multiple fractures to both arms and both legs, and fractures to his ribs and pelvis.
The collision has now sparked an appeal for witnesses by police who are trying to put together a picture of what happened.
He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary and detained overnight because of the extent of his injuries.
The teenager was hurt in the incident at around 5.10pm on Sunday.
Police said a blue Peugeot 307 was travelling along York Road when it was reported to have waited in a dedicated right-turn lane at the junction with Alwyn Avenue, apparently to cut through the central reservation. A white van, thought to have emerged from Alwyn Avenue to turn right into Doncaster, was also waiting to cut through the central reservation at the same time.
A police spokesman said: “The driver of the Peugeot is then reported to have edged forward to travel across the carriageway into Alwyn Avenue when a black and red Aprilia RS125 collided into the car.”
The driver of the Peugeot, a 20-year-old Doncaster man, was not hurt.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicles in the moments leading up it is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 0114 220 2020 quoting incident 777 of February 13.
