Teenager injured in bike smash

A TEENAGE boy is in hospital with multiple fractures after coming off a motorbike in a collision with a van.

The 17-year-old was travelling along York Road, Scawsby in Doncaster when he was involved in a smash with a blue Peugeot 307 attempting to turn right into Alwyn Avenue.

Police said the teenage biker, from Woodlands, who was riding a red Aprillia RS125, sustained serious multiple fractures to both of his arms and both legs and fractures to his ribs and pelvis.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary where he was detained.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 20-year-old Doncaster man, escaped unharmed.

Witnesses to the collision at 5.10pm on Sunday February 13 should call South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020 quoting incident 777 of February 13.
