Teen arrested after man seriously injured by gang of youths on Sheffield street

A 16-year-old has been arrested after a man was seriously injured in a gang attack on a Sheffield street.

A group of youths were confronted about noise they were making on Donovan Road, Parson Cross, at 11pm on Saturday night.

One member of the group allegedly assaulted a 45-year-old woman who suffered minor injuries.

A few minutes later, a 46-year-old man was also assaulted. He suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or events leading up to it. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 1205 of 17 May 2015.
