Big-hearted football fans from across Sheffield’s soccer divide have donated items of their unwanted kit to disadvantaged people.
They supported a plea from Sheffield Council and Veolia Environmental Services to boost the charity Kit Aid.
More than 60 pieces of kit have been donated since July and will be sent to children and adults living in poorer countries to help them enjoy football.
Council cabinet member Coun Jack Scott said: “We thank everyone who donated kits to this worthy charity.
“It’s fantastic to know that these football kits will help children and adults to take part in sporting activities and enhance their sense of team spirit.”
Unwanted kits can also be donated at household waste recycling centres.
