Talks to stop deportation
LAST-ditch talks are taking place between Sheffield MP Meg Munn and immigration officials to try to halt the deportation of a failed asylum seeker and his sick children.
Claude N'Deh, his wife Magolit and children Cyril, three, and 18-month-old twins Gael and Kirsty, are set to be flown home to Africa tomorrow. The family is currently being held at Yarls Wood removal centre.
Cyril and Kirsty have sickle cell anaemia.
A spokesman for Foreign Office Minister Ms Munn said: "We are doing all we can, lobbying on Claude's behalf and speaking with Home Office officials."
Claude fled to Britain six years ago after being imprisoned and tortured for protesting about the executions of nine schoolboys.
