Talks on a greener city

BUSINESS representatives and Sheffield Council bosses are getting together to discuss how they can work to cut carbon dioxide emissions to reduce global warming.

The debate is to take place at St Paul’s Hotel, in the city centre, on the afternoon of Thursday March 6.

Speakers include council chief executive Sir Bob Kerslake, who will outline the role of the authority towards cutting emissions and explain how the council can work with firms to turn the task into a business opportunity.

James Smith, chair of Shell UK, will speak about the challenge of developing greener energy, while David Green, chief executive of the UK Business Council for Sustainable Energy, will also address delegates.
