A group of young dancers have put their best foot forward to raise cash for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Students from the Jay Love School of Dance, based at St Paul’s Church Hall on Wordsworth Avenue, Parson Cross, raised a collective £140 for the hospital at a recent medal presentation for passing their November exams.

The school and dancers’ families donated raffle prizes to help reach the total.

Joan Stevenson, who runs the school with daughter Julie Youlton, said: “Over the years we have become more of a family than teachers and pupils.

“We hope none of the children will ever need the help of the children’s hospital, but we like to support it, so we ensure, if ever the worst happens, it’s there for the children we know and all our children county-wide.”

The dancing school teaches a range of styles.
