Takeaway plans refused
PLANS for a takeaway in Pitsmoor have been turned down by a council planning board following a 51-signature petition objecting to the blueprints.
Residents living close to the planned site, on the corner of Ellesmere Road North and Scott Road, raised a number of objections relating to the proposal, including increased litter, noise, parking problems, odour and rats.
Plans to change the use of the current shop to a takeaway have been refused twice since 2005 and members of Sheffield Council's west and north planning board turned them down again.
Council officers, in a report to the planning board, said: "The proposed use of the premises as a hot food takeaway would likely results in unacceptable levels of noise and disturbance."
