Cycling campaigners are urging council chiefs to protect a route through a Sheffield retail park.
CycleSheffield says the Sheaf Valley path, which runs through Heeley Retail Park, is being blocked by tables and chairs from a new coffee shop. They are also unhappy a ramp has been replaced by steps, forcing bikers to dismount.
The group have also complained that Virgin Active are keeping its service yard open for their visitors.
This, they say, results in people driving in and out of the gym, across the cycle path.
And during football matches at Bramall Lane, part of the cycling route at Asline road is being used as a coach park for away fans.
Coun Leigh Bramall, Sheffield Council cabinet member for business, skills and development, said: “We are aware of the concerns around Heeley Retail Park and are currently working with the developer to find a solution.
“We appreciate there has been some significant changes which are affecting cyclists in the area.”
