The Sheffield-based Great Britain table tennis squad are holding an event to raise funds to bring in world-class Chinese coaches to help them train for the London Olympics.
A themed evening is being held on Monday, June 6, when there will be an informal dinner at the City Hall Ballroom, with 250 guests able to have a go at the sport.
Angela Wall, the Chamber’s events manager, said: “The aim of the evening is to finance the visit of the two coaches who will be making two separate visits and hopefully taking the GB team to new levels of expertise.
“The emphasis will be on everyone having a really great time with as little formality as possible.”
Tickets for the Chinese-themed dinner are £30 per head, with the goal to raise between £8,000 and £10,000. Call 0114 201 8930 to book a place.
