I READ with interest (Apr 5) about the poor services on the Nos 4 and 6 bus routes to Darnall, as noted by Clive Betts.
I travel the same route as the No 52 bus on Staniforth and Handsworth roads in Darnall almost every morning and find traffic frequently held up by the number of these buses going both ways on the route.
I once counted a total of eight single deckers nose to tail on Staniforth Road. Each had about six passengers.
This certainly does not ease congestion. These buses and the traffic calming measures on these roads bring the peak time average speed to about 7mph for about two miles.
Why not take off all but two of these buses and put them on the Nos 4 and 6 routes?
