Swinton woman who was seriously injured after being struck by a car ‘still in hospital’

A woman who was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Swinton four weeks ago is still in hospital.

Two children were also seriously injured in the incident.

South Yorkshire Police said: “The 39-year-old woman is still in hospital and will remain so for some time yet.

The driver remains on bail.”

The injured youngsters - a five-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl - were struck along with a 39-year-old woman and a seven-year-old boy on Bridge Street, Swinton, close to the junction with Dun Street.

The pedestrians were hit by a black Vauxhall Antara at around 2.50pm on May 18.

A 42-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed pending further inquiries.
