Following his conviction for his part, David (usually called Ronin) Barkshire stated: “Our actions were reasonable and necessary”.
It also adds that he campaigned on environmental and social justice for five years, much of this alongside others in our group and we should take the opportunity to support his comments.
The lack of adequate action to limit human-induced climate change means we will inevitably see extreme weather become much more common. Radical and positive action is urgently needed to reduce carbon emissions.
We shall continue to lobby decision-makers. But, in many ways unfortunately, direct actions still appear to be the most effective way of alerting people to severity of the climate crisis.
