CHILDREN who have lost a loved one were given reason to smile again when the circus came to town.
Entertainers from Sheffield’s Greentop Circus paid a special visit to Rotherham Hospice for a day of fun designed to help youngsters from its bereavement support group.
Juggling, plate spinning and diabolo were just some of the circus skills taught to youngsters during the session.
Cath Todd, staff nurse at Rotherham Hospice, said: ”We started offering bereavement support for children because there was nothing for them in the local area. We do pre- and post-support to provide activities to help build positive memories, to make it fun with no pressure, and being around other kids really helps.”
