SHOPPERS are being asked to nominate a charity to benefit from a supermarket’s support for the next year.

The Crystal Peaks branch of Sainsbury’s is asking customers and colleagues to put forward the charities which are important to them for the relaunch of its Local Charity Partner scheme.

A shortlist of nominations will be drawn up and three charities will be invited to meet staff to talk about how Sainsbury’s support could help them.

The store will then choose a partner charity for the next 12 months.

Store manager Phil Finegold said: “We hope that by supporting one main charity partner over the next year, we’ll be able to make a huge difference to its work. So now we just need customers to come in and tell us who they want us to consider.”
