THEY’RE the cutest of the cute! This trio with the winning smiles outshone the competition in The Star’s Cute Kids competition.
The contest was held at Mothercare at Crystal Peaks Retail Park with the children were judged in three age categories - up to one, one to two and two to three.
Organiser Jackie Capper, from The Star, said: “It was a huge success, with lots of children entering.
“It was a great family outing with mums and dads coming along.
“Everyone had their photo taken by a professional photographer and chose which photograph they wanted entered into the competition.
“And Star readers voted for their favourites by post and by text.”
The category for babies aged up to one was the most hotly-contested, accounting for just over half of all the entries. Mum Natalie, from Upper Manor, whose eight-month-old son Reo Gordon scooped top prize, said: “My mum said she had seen a poster somewhere and suggested I take him.
“When we saw in the paper that he had won, we were so pleased. I was so happy, and so proud of him.”
Two-year-old George Bough, from Westfield, came out on top in the category for toddlers aged up to two.
His mum Sarah said: “The photos you get from entering the competition are brilliant.
“We entered last year, but George didn’t place.
“We were quite shocked that he won this year. I couldn’t be more proud - I was so excited for him.”
And Kieran Dobby took home the prize in the section for children aged two to three - narrowly beating the competition by just one vote.
All winners received a £25 gift voucher for Mothercare and a black and white framed acrylic print.
