A Women’s Institute group celebrated its fifth anniversary with birthday cake and party games.

Seven Hills WI, which meets at Electric Works on Sheaf Street, Sheffield, was formed in 2009 by friends Lindsay Garfitt, Jennifer Marsden and Kim Whelan.

With 135 members aged between 22 and 55, the group is now the largest WI in South Yorkshire.

Many members were out in force to celebrate its fifth birthday at a party which included a pot luck supper, games, and a cake baking competition which was won by Sam Foster.

Group president Lindsay Garfitt said: “The past five years have been wonderful for Seven Hills WI and it was lovely to get our members together to celebrate the milestone.”
