Students’ work goes on display
Sheffield Hallam University architecture students will be displaying their work at the Blue Moon Café in the city centre from today.
The exhibition of work from second year architecture students will run for one week.
It will feature hand drawn plans and elevations of the café building which demonstrate the use of sciagraphy - the art of representing shadows as realistically as possible.
The Blue Moon Café is housed in the former Eadon Lockwood and Riddle auction hall building on St James Street and regularly hosts exhibitions of paintings by local and national artists.
Paul King, senior lecturer in architecture, said: “This is the first time the Blue Moon Café has shown work by Sheffield Hallam students and it will be an ideal opportunity for the Sheffield public to see the quality of the work being carried out on our courses.”
