Midwifery students from Sheffield Hallam University welcomed a giant scroll to the city as it visits 50 maternity units in 50 days.

People are urged to sign the scroll and make a donation for Motorcycle Outreach, a charity which supplies bikes for healthcare professionals travelling in remote areas of the developing world.

Sheffield students added their names to the 72,000 signatures already collected – with the aim being to break the Guinness World Record for the most signatures on one item.

The scroll entitled Precious Cargo is being transferred from unit to unit by blood bikes, and after its British tour it is hoped it will go across Europe and beyond.
