Students sing for farm cause

A SCHOOL choir helped drum up cash to the tune of £11,000 for a Sheffield charity.

The sixth form group from the city’s independent Birkdale School sang at the annual Christmas fayre held at Whirlow Hall Farm last weekend.

Around 2,000 people visited the festive event, which raised cash for the farm’s trust so it can continue its work educating young people across South Yorkshire at its countryside classroom.

A spokesman from Birkdale School said: “The choir was an important and perfect addition to the event and much appreciated by everyone who heard them sing.”
