STUDENTS are set to get gunged to help raise money for HOPE Nigeria, a new project helping the victims of sex trafficking in Nigeria.
Four students from Sheffield University’s Department of Linguistics have bravely volunteered to take part, placing themselves at the mercy of the public, who will vote for the student they would most like to get a gunging.
The students have each recorded a short video plea explaining why they should be the ones to have the honour of being publicly gunged for such a worthy cause.
Project leader and gunging candidate Rob Ryan, aged 20, said: “The Gunge a Linguist fundraiser is a brilliantly entertaining way of supporting the cause.”
The event is on Friday, April 26, at 1pm, outside the Jessop West building. To donate All about Linguistics - gunge
