STUDENTS from Barnsley College are part of the furniture at a scheme which aims to teach them new skills and build their confidence.
The students are working with non-profit organisation Youth Development to recycle and refurbish old furniture and computers donated by the college.
The project got underway when furniture which would have been thrown away was recycled to furnish the Youth Development team office.
The college staff are preparing to move into new premises this summer so the opportunity for further donations has kept the recycling going.
Mark Garside from Youth Development, said: “Really, recycling is a by-product - albeit a great one - of the work we are doing.
“What’s really at the heart of this project is passing on knowledge to students to help them gain new skills.”
