Student's winning design for custom car unveiled at summer fair - PICTURES
A CAR was the star at a Sheffield school's annual summer fair - as pupils eagerly awaited the unveiling of a custom classic.
Youngsters at Abbeydale Grange were asked to come up with exciting designs for their ideal custom car as part of a graphics project.
Fifteen-year-old Aisha Khan's ideas were judged to be the most interesting - and at the fair her design was unveiled, making a Mitsubishi the coolest car around.
"The custom car project was the first in a line of graphics-based challenges which are designed to encourage our students to express themselves in creative ways," said teacher Sam Needham.
"The task here was to come up with a design for a vinyl wrap for a car which could then be used to promote the school in a positive way, and we felt Aisha's work was the best.
"We think we are the first school to run this sort of project and it certainly seemed to capture the students' imagination."
The unveiling of the car was one of the highlights of the summer fair, which attracted a bumper number of parents and pupils.
Other attractions included a performance by drama students, a steel band and children's entertainer 'Mr Zoot'.
