Student gets ahead in the fashion stakes

FASHION graduate Kimberley Wheeliker might have officially left college ... but a new business venture making wedding dresses has ensured she stays on site.

Kimberley, aged 25, of Conisbrough, has launched Sheba Bell Design at the High Melton campus after enrolling in the centre's business start-up course which helps graduates find their feet in their chosen industry.

Kimberley, who graduated with a degree in fashion from the University Centre Doncaster last year, designs bespoke traditional and modern wedding dresses and occasion wear from the countryside campus.

She said: "I went to Doncaster College straight from school and studied art and never thought I'd end up designing dresses.

"But when I started doing work, I realised I liked fashion and ended up doing a degree in it.

"I just love fashion and love making dresses so for that to be my business is just great. This is my full-time job.

"I have been at the College and University Centre for the past eight years studying various things and they have really set me up for a life in the fashion industry."
