Streets revamp for three more areas of Sheffield

Residents and businesses in three more areas of Sheffield are to receive work to revamp their roads in the coming months.

Roadshows will take place in the Hillsborough, Stannington and Walkley areas to find out about works that are planned to take place in their areas in the New Year.

On Tuesday, November 13, the Streets Ahead team will be hosting the first roadshow at Lomas Hall, Stannington, from 4pm to 8pm.

The second roadshow will take place on Wednesday, November 14, at Walkley Library, South Road, from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.

At each of the roadshows, residents and businesses will be able to find out about the works that will be taking place, roads that will be affected and when the works will start and end.

There will also be the opportunity to speak to experts from Amey and Sheffield Council about how the works will be carried out and what impact this may have on their day to day lives.

If residents and businesses are not able to attend either of the roadshows then the plans of the proposed works programme will be on display at Sheffield Council’s First Point Centre at Hillsborough Barracks from November 15.

Coun Jack Scott, cabinet member for environment, recycling and streetscene, said: “We are keen to listen to residents and businesses about any concerns or suggestions they may have about these works, to ensure they are carried out in the most efficient and least disruptive way.”
