A MAN was taken to hospital with stab injuries after being attacked on a Sheffield street.

The 29-year-old was stabbed on Holme Lane, Malin Bridge, on Sunday, at about 1.15pm, and needed treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said another 29-year-old man, believed to be known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A row of shops on Holme Lane was cordoned off while police combed the scene for evidence, and an officer could be seen placing numbered tags on the ground outside the Malin Bridge Fryer chip shop.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident 553 of April 1.
