Storytime's just the ticket for kids

SOUTH Yorkshire's best attractions are free this summer for two talented children who scooped top prize in The Star's online Kids Zone competition.

Lewis Hudson, aged 11, of Lower Walkley, and Molly Nixon, six, of Handsworth, each wrote a story about their favourite place and won a bumper package of family passes.

Molly picked North Anston's Tropical Butterfly House as her top choice and wrote: "I like feeding the animals a lot. Once I was feeding the goats and a naughty goat snatched the bag out of my hand. It ate the bag all up!

"There is a squirty thing there that squirts you when you walk past it."

Lewis opted for firm favourite Millhouses Park and said he loves going there with his younger sister Isobel.

He wrote: "There are lots of places we like to go to but my favourite place is Millhouses Park. There is so much to see and do all year.

"My favourite activity is the boating pond. Sometimes we take our bikes.

"I go in the playground, play mini golf, sometimes I take my remote control boat to sail.

"We take a picnic if it is a really nice day. Then end our day in the cafe with drinks and ice-creams. Yummy!"
