The Met Office has issued an Amber Warning for the region with ferocious gusts of up to 80mph in places. These winds are likely to cause widespread travel disruption as well as some structural damage.

Winds are expected to pick up speed across Sheffield around the morning rush hour and these gales will last well into the afternoon.
