ROAD improvements have been approved for around the site of a planned Asda supermarket in Sheffield.
The city council’s cabinet highways committee has granted permission for a series of measures around the site, on Waterthorpe Greenway, near Crystal Peaks.
The improvements aim to ensure safety of pedestrians and cyclists accessing the store as well as helping roads cope with extra traffic.
The plans involve a new traffic light-controlled junction to provide access to the store from Waterthorpe Greenway, new footpaths and cycle lanes, and a pedestrian crossing on Waterthorpe Greenway.
Bus stops in the surrounding area would also receive improvements.
