Stolen sheep taken from field in Hathersage killed for meat, say police

A sheep stolen from a field in the Hope Valley was killed for meat, police have revealed.

It was stolen from a field on Sheffield Road, Hathersage, between 9am on Thursday, January 1 and 1pm on Sunday, January 4, and its remains were found in a nearby field.

Sometime between 8pm on Monday, January 5 and 10.30am on Saturday, January 10, two chickens were killed in a shed in the grounds of at a property in Edge Lane, Bradwell.

Investigations into both incidents are underway.
