An 18-year-old who damaged property in his family home has been fined more than £200 – after his stepfather reported him.
Ashley Michael Thompson had a row with his mother, causing him to become angry and kick a door at the home she shares with his stepfather, Michael Krajnyk, on Wheatley Park Road, Bentley.
He had been due to attend an interview for an apprenticeship at the council’s Civic Offices on the morning of Friday, November 6 when the incident took place, Doncaster Magistrates’ Court heard.
Tim Williamson, for Thompson, said: “He came down ready for the interview and his mother, as mothers do, said, ‘Put a suit on.’ Ashley did not want to and the pair got in to an argument. He accepts he caused the damage.”
The damage has since been repaired by the family, costing £24.
The court heard Thompson, who is living in YMCA accommodation on Wood Street, Doncaster, has anger management issues.
June Allen, prosecuting, said: “His stepfather said he needs help with anger management and then he will be allowed home.”
Thompson admitted causing criminal damage. He was fined £274 and given a conditional discharge for six months.
