PEOPLE in Sheffield are being urged to step out and make the most of the national park on their doorstep.
Coun Sylvia Dunkley, Lord Mayor of Sheffield, wants to mark the 60th anniversary of the Peak District National Park by encouraging more people to get into walking.
She said: “Walking is a rewarding and low-cost way to keep active. There are many walks of varying levels of difficulty in the park, but Sheffield also offers interesting urban walks which provide opportunities for people and visitors to visit all parts of the city.
“We are lucky to have such countryside on our doorstep.”
