Step carefully to prevent falls in icy conditions warn Derbyshire health chiefs

Health chiefs are urging people to take care to prevent slips and trips if freezing weather strikes.

The NHS North Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group says people should go outside in icy conditions only if it is essential.

If residents do decide to venture out, they should wear flat shoes with a good grip and step carefully on gritted areas.

The deputy chair of the CCG, Dr Richard Bull, said: “Falls are a common but often overlooked cause of injury and sometimes death.”
