Sheffield’s Weston Park is taking a step back in time on Sunday for its annual May Fayre.

This year’s nostalgic attractions will include Professor Jon’s Flea Circus, sideshows,
Victorian characters and rides on model steam trains.

Coun Isobel Bowler, Sheffield Council cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “The May Fayre is always a popular event for all the family and I’m sure this year will be no exception.

“The event is also a wonderful excuse to enjoy a walk in Weston Park, Crookes Valley Park and the Ponderosa, which are particularly stunning at the moment with spring flowers in bloom.

“Visitors can also enjoy a trip to Weston Park Museum, where the current Ice Age exhibition is sure to be enjoyed by young and old alike.”

Fayre visitors can enjoy live traditional and contemporary music being performed from the park bandstand.

Other attractions include fairground rides such as a carousel and helter-skelter, and a display of classic and vintage cars.

Entry is free to the fayre, which is open from 11am to 5pm.
