Stay in touch on the move

Passengers catching trains between Sheffield and London now have improved mobile phone coverage.

Operator East Midlands Trains has fitted special equipment on its 27-strong Meridian fleet – which provide most services between the two cities – to boost the signal, in a joint scheme with mobile phone comopany Vodafone.

Neil Micklethwaite, customer service and commercial director for East Midlands Trains, said: “We’re constantly looking at ways to provide that little bit extra for our customers and we know from customer feedback that this has been something we could work to improve.

“This means that customers will be able to stay in touch on their mobile phones with a stronger and more consistent mobile phone reception.”
