FRIENDS of Dronfield Station are celebrating after a charity auction raised more than £600.
The group was the beneficiary of the fundraising event at the refurbished Dronfield Arms pub, formerly The Sidings. The money will enable the group to repeat the sowing of seeds for a flower meadow next year. They will also contribute funds to upgrading seats on the platform.
Spokesman Michael Muntus said: “To raise more than £600 is a superb effort and we wish to thank The Dronfield Arms wholeheartedly for their generous support.”
Pub owner Chris Sinclair said: “There were a number of railway-related items left over from when the pub was The Sidings. After rebranding we considered selling then, but thought an auction to support the Friends would be better.”
