A CRICKET legend and a TV diving judge are taking part in a fundraising cycling challenge to raise money for The Children’s Hospital.
Former England captain Mike Gatting OBE and celebrity judge Leon Taylor have signed up to the Investec 2013 Cycle Challenge.
The idea came from James Bedingfield, senior investment director at the Sheffield office of Investec Wealth and Investment.
The Cycle Challenge will be run in partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Broad and the Lord’s Taverners Charity, which helps youngsters with disabilities in sport.
It will see 80 individuals cycle 340 miles in five days to the five grounds hosting this year’s Ashes tournament.
The target £200,000 will then be split between the Lord’s Tavenerers and several local charities, including the hospital.
James said: “We want to raise enough money for a specially adapted minibus, so disabled young people can access sport and a room in the Children’s Hospital’s new £40m development project.”
