The Star's story about a local fan who gave a lift to hip hop superstars Public Enemy has today gone viral.

The story has been retweeted hundreds of times and also been shared by hundreds of people on Facebook.

Public Enemy band member Chuck D Tweeted: "Oh Well I suggested we play Queen lol … The record store was crazy doPE too."

The story was also shared by broadcaster Lauren Laverne, and a host of other music industry figures and journalists.
