Temperatures are set to soar this weekend as The Star kickstarts its Summer of Love campaign.
Forecasters have predicted warm weather and sunshine to smile on South Yorkshire today and tomorrow, so there has never been a better time to join in the fun.
Heavy rainfall led to the cancellation of a host of events last summer, so we’re striking while the iron, and weather, is hot.
Our campaign, which launched this week, is aiming to step up its coverage of event, from fairs and fetes to galas and grand days out – across the newspaper and website throughout the summer.
We want to fill our pages with smiling faces, blue skies and good summer vibes during June, July and August but we need the help of our readers.
Sean Penistone, a forecaster for Meteogroup, said today: “There will be similar conditions through the weekend.
“Today should be warm with temperatures between 18C and 20C and on Sunday they’ll be roughly the same.
“It’ll be mostly clear on both days, there should be a bit of sunshine and it should stay dry.”
So whether you and the family are off to a fun day, visiting a community festival or just enjoying an ice cream on a park bench – we want to hear about it.
Before you slap on that sun cream think about how you can spread the love as part of the campaign.
You can take to Twitter to tell us how you’re making the most of the season by sending a Tweet to us at @SheffieldStar, using the hashtag #SummerOfLove.
Readers can also send their best summer snaps to email@example.com. or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to send news of upcoming events.
