Happy New Year to all our readers. We hope you had enjoyable time seeing in 2015 last night.
And what a year it promises to be.
There are still many challenges facing our region but the start of a new year is a time to be positive.
It is also traditional to make resolutions for what you hope to achieve during the coming 12 months.
We hope to be reporting on many successes over the next year.
Work beginning on a new retail quarter in Sheffield would be a great sign that the city centre is getting a much-needed boost.
Equally, it would be nice to see cranes in the east end of the city, an area ear-marked for an Ikea store and the Olympic-legacy project.
Last year saw some of our communities torn apart by scandal and disorder. Hopefully members of all parts of society can work together so wrong-doers are brought to justice and the laws of the land are upheld.
On a sporting front we wish all our teams, from all sports, success for 2015.
The area gains confidence from having strong institutions, which include our sports clubs.
Their success reflects well on all of us.
Finally, start 2015 as you mean to go on. It can be a great year for us all.
