WALK into the Star Shop and you’ll discover the women behind the counter have what is becoming a must-have fashion accessory – a Christmas pot.

First to get plastered was Front Counter Coordinator Jackie Capper.

Jackie, aged 52, of Stannington, slipped on ice when she was walking her dog on the local cricket field.

Then, just days later, colleague Angela Fuller, also 52, of Frecheville slipped on the ice in her back garden.

Both are now sporting Christmas casts – and it seems they’re becoming the talk of the town.

Jackie said: “There have been loads of comments from customers who can’t believe we’ve both broken our arms and had Christmas pots on.

“The only difference is mine is green and hers is orange. Oh, and I’ve broken my right arm and Ang has broken her left.”

The pots are due to come off as the Christmas period ends.

Jackie added: “The pots do brighten things up a bit.

“But we’re both making new year resolutions not to be wearing one again.”
