A Star front page about a criminal who wrote to us while on the run from prison is to feature on Crimewatch tonight.
Darrell Burbeary, aged 43, absconded from HMP Hatfield in Doncaster on Sunday, June 15 and went to ground.
But the fugitive took time to write and post a letter to The Star, pointing out that South Yorkshire Police had issued incorrect information in an appeal for help in tracing him.
He criticised the force for describing him as being from Heeley, pointing out he is from the Manor area.
Burbeary was serving a 30-month jail sentence for burglary, imposed last year, when he absconded.
He was tracked down to a house in Skye Edge on Monday, July 7.
